All of the massages at the Whole Life Health Center are done by Whitney Prescott of Massage by Whitney. Whitney is a licensed Massage Therapist who specializes in Neuromuscular MassageTherapy. She is also highly trained in Swedish, DeepTissue, Sports and Hot Stone Massage as well as Reflexology.

Neuromuscular massage therapy is a highly-specialized and extremely focused treatment method that can basically be equated to a form of medical massage therapy.
As a neuromuscular massage therapist, in addition to the ability to relieve back pain or any other muscle pain, Whitney can address a wide range of issues including:
Carpal tunnel symptoms …. Sciatica symptoms …. Calf cramps …. Headaches
Hip, knee and jaw pain …. Temporomandibular joint pain (TMJ disorders)
Plantar fasciitis …. Tendonitis …. Iliotibial band friction syndrome
The American Academy of Pain Management recognizes that this massage method is an effective treatment for soft tissue injuries, especially in the back.

Neuromuscular Massage Therapy
Neuromuscular Massage Therapy (NMT) are highly-specialized manual therapy techniques designed to correct pain and movement dysfunction by treating trigger points, muscle adhesions, and connective tissue patterns. The problems are normally caused by a specific trauma, repetitive movements or even bad posture. NMT also focuses on areas of muscle spasm to relieve chronic stiffness and pain.
Deep Tissue
Uses deeper pressure than a Swedish massage to release chronic muscle tension. Focuses on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia. Reduces stress levels and lowers heart rate while boosting mood and relaxation.
Sports Massage
Focuses on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and aggressive movements. Promotes flexibility, reduces fatigue, improves endurance, and helps prevent injuries.
A combination of these techniques is used for your massage unless a specific one is requested.
Hot Stone Massage
Warm, flat stones are placed on specific spots of the body to enhance muscle relaxation, reduce tension, helps with stress and pain relief, and helps increase blood flow and release toxins.
Reflexology
A relaxing experience involving the application of pressure to the feet and hands. Stimulates nerve function, increases energy, boosts circulation, eliminates toxins and induces a deep state of relaxation.
